2 Corinthians 5:14-15 – “The love of Christ controls us, because we know that one person died for everyone. So all have died. He died for all so that those who live would not continue to live for themselves. He died for them and was raised from death so that they would live for Him.”
This verse is so beautiful to me! Jesus does not want us to live for ourselves. We have to stop being so selfish, only thinking about ourselves, what we want, when we want it, etc. Instead of “allowing” the things of this world to control us, we must “allow” the love of our Father to take over us. He wants us to not only live for Him, but to live and serve others.
Matthew 25:36-40 – “I was hungry and you fed Me. I was thirsty and you gave Me a drink. I was homeless and you gave Me a room. I was shivering and you gave Me clothes. I was sick and you stopped to VISIT. I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then those ‘sheep’ are going to say, ‘Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see You hungry and feed You, thirsty and give You a drink? And when did we ever see You sick or in prison and come to You?’ Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was Me—you did it to Me.’”
Just a simple thing to go to someone’s house or hospital room and visit them, is huge, not only to them, but to the Lord!
I encourage you today, and every day, to not look at what YOU want, what the LORD wants. He wants you to put others first, not yourself.
